EXCESSIVE SWEATING
GOODBYE WET UNDERARMS WELCOME BACK CONFIDENCE!
BOTULINUM TOXIN INJECTIONS EFFECTIVELY TREAT EXCESSIVE SWEATING.
What is Hyperhidrosis often referred to as Excessive Sweating?
Are wet underarms affecting your self-confidence, social and professional life? You're not alone. Hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating affects 3%-5% of the population. It can start at any age, in childhood or adolescence. People with Hyperhidrosis can produce even ten times as much sweat as people without it.

If you are a sufferer botox injections can be the answer to your problem. They are a safe and effective treatment for excessive sweating.
How does it work?
Small amounts of Botulinum toxin are injected into the problematic area such as armpits, forehead, palms of hands or feet. Botox blocks the release of acetylcholine, neurotransmitter activating sweat glands. This can significantly reduce or completely stop sweating for 6 months up to a year.

Is it ok to stop my body from sweating?
Normal sweating is necessary and good for us. Our body releases sweat to regulate temperature especially when we exercise or are in a hot climate. We have about 2 million sweat glands working to cool us down.

It is when we sweat more than we need that we talk about Hyperhidrosis. This life-disrupting condition is very uncomfortable and embarrassing and can greatly affect our self-confidence.
Sometimes people are concerned about stopping armpit sweating, but this accounts for only 1% of our body’s entire perspiration. Stopping the sweat in one area doesn’t affect the rest of your body. It will produce sweat as it used to, regulating internal temperature.

You can effectively reduce or eliminate sweating using botox injections, but you may also want to talk to your doctor because there might be other underlying causes of your sweating such as diabetes, overactive thyroid or other medical condition.
Who is the candidate for excessive sweating treatment?
If you are not able to control your excessive sweating with antiperspirant, you are a candidate. You also must be 18 or over. You should not have this treatment if you are allergic to Botulinum toxin, pregnant or breastfeeding.
